This charming vintage cotton top features an elasticated neckline and beautiful open-work embroidery along the sleeves and hemline, giving it a light, airy, and timeless feel.
Although the original label is difficult to read, the fabric behaves exactly like a high-cotton or 100% cotton textile, particularly in the way it absorbed the dye, making it breathable, comfortable, and perfect for everyday wear.
As with most true vintage garments, there is no original brand or size label, so we’ve included accurate, flat-lay measurements below to help you find your best fit.
Botanical Dye Details
This piece has been undyed with dyer’s chamomile to create a warm golden base, then overdyed in a rich indigo vat, resulting in a deep, dark blue with a subtle teal undertone. The layered dye process creates a colour with real depth and character.
Naturally dyed garments have a unique, organic look. Unlike the completely uniform finish of synthetic dyes, you’ll see gentle variation, texture, and personality in the colour, part of the beauty of botanical dyeing.
Care & Longevity
Indigo is naturally lightfast and washfast, but like denim, it will soften and fade slowly over time, especially with prolonged sunlight or harsh detergents.
For best care:
●Wash at 20°C with a pH-neutral, non-biological detergent
●Use a moderate spin
●Keep out of strong direct sunlight when drying
A little colour transfer is possible, particularly when new, so please wash and wear with caution around pale fabrics.
Measurements (Garment Laid Flat & Doubled Where Needed)
●Chest: 94 cm around
●Length: 52 cm (shoulder to hem)
●Waist: 112 cm
●Hips: 114 cm
This one-of-a-kind piece has been revived with care and natural colour, ready for its next chapter in your wardrobe.
